Funny Thanksgiving Stories and Mishaps That Made Us Feel Grateful They Aren’t Ours

Oh, Thanksgiving, that special time we take out of our busy schedules to sit around a full table of fall-themed foods and family to say thanks for all the things we are thankful for. Everybody makes sure to come dressed in their best, and with empty tummies just so they can enjoy the much-awaited spread. There are so many different things that need to get done in the lead-up… But what happens when everything goes haywire? It can be so sad to see people feel deflated after working so hard on their specific dish or activity, for it to not have turned out well. Well, I guess there is always next year, right?

Puppies Love Pies

Is there anything more adorable than a cute little puppy? For some reason, we humans are drawn to these dogs in such a way that it can turn us into people we don’t even recognize. But at the end of the day, all of the mishaps and mayhem they cause are worth it because of how cute they are.

Unless, of course, they eat all of the Thanksgiving pies in one sitting… Everyone loves puppies, but we’re not sure that this person’s family would have been ok with this situation. Sure, you can forgive a puppy for doing something like this, but missing out on Thanksgiving pie is a serious sacrifice.

So Many Gaps

Even though they mean well, there are some people out there that don’t entirely understand the concept of farmland. Whether they have grown up in or around the city or have quite simply never truly thought about where their food comes from, farms and what they might look like haven’t always appealed to some.

So you can imagine just how awkward this Thanksgiving drive would have been for everyone on that car ride. How is it possible for someone to have no idea what farmland looks like? The fact that this person’s brother had to clarify that the “gaps” they were seeing were, in fact, pieces of farmland is too much.

Everyone Loves Garlic

Whether we like to admit it or not, we have all tried to impress our in-laws at one point or another. Even though we feel like we’re being totally unassuming and even charming, they are always going to be able to sniff out when we’re trying too hard. And one Thanksgiving, this guy made it very easy for his future in-laws to know what was happening right away…

To be honest, if we were new to cooking, we also wouldn’t know the difference between a head and a clove of garlic… However, knowing the difference is pretty crucial. This definitely would have been embarrassing, but at least his in-laws didn’t make him feel stupid. Plus, this would go down as one of the best stories ever…

Tell Me, Sir

If you answered yes, don’t worry, we have all been there before. Sometimes the flustered rush can be a little overwhelming that it causes you to forget yourself for a second…

As much as everyone might try to deny it, we have all done something very similar to this at one point or another. At least the store manager had a sense of humor and was able to pour some light onto the situation. Store managers probably get a lot of this kind of thing, especially around Thanksgiving.
