#3: Cher
By the 1970s, Cher had already survived one pop-culture reinvention and was halfway into another. After splitting professionally and personally from Sonny Bono, she launched a solo career, fronted The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour, and dated famous men without ever seeming defined by them. She stayed funny, sharp, and fully in control.

Cher’s beauty in natural moments felt unexpectedly delicate. Without the full stage makeup, her huge dark eyes, strong nose, and famously long hair did most of the work. She had that rare mix of dramatic and earthy, like someone who could wear sequins at night and still look striking first thing.
