#2: Katherine MacGregor’s On-Set Clashes Nearly Got Her Fired
In Alison Arngrim’s autobiography Confessions of a Prairie Bitch, she described co-star Katherine MacGregor as both kind and chaotic. Though pleasant off camera, MacGregor often argued with directors and gave unwanted direction to other actors, which created frequent disruptions during filming.

Her behavior frustrated the cast and crew, including Richard Bull, who eventually had to speak up. Michael Landon seriously considered firing her for the constant tension, but her brilliant performance as the fiery Harriet Oleson was too iconic and essential to the show to let her go.
