#18: Graphic Design
Graphic design attracts students who want a creative career that still feels practical. They may picture themselves designing logos, websites, packaging, posters, magazines, apps, or brand identities. Compared with some art degrees, it can seem more directly connected to jobs because every company needs visuals, marketing materials, and digital content.

The regret usually comes from how competitive the field has become. Entry-level designers often need a strong portfolio, software fluency, internships, and the ability to handle client feedback quickly. With freelance platforms, crowded applicant pools, and new AI tools changing basic design work, some graduates find the degree less protective than they expected.
