#37: Social Sciences, General
Social sciences, general, can appeal to students who are interested in people, institutions, culture, politics, economics, and behavior but do not want to narrow themselves too early. It sounds like a flexible degree for someone who might later work in research, public service, education, nonprofit work, business, or government.

The regret usually comes from that same broadness. Employers may understand a degree in economics, political science, or psychology more quickly than “general social sciences.” Graduates can have useful knowledge, but they may need internships, data skills, or graduate school to turn the degree into a clear early-career path.
