#54: Law Enforcement Studies
Law enforcement studies draws students who picture themselves becoming police officers, investigators, federal agents, or public safety leaders. It can feel like a focused and serious major for someone who already knows they want to work in the justice system. Many expect the degree to give them a head start.

The issue is that law enforcement hiring often depends on academy training, background checks, physical fitness, civil service exams, and department needs. A degree can help, especially for promotion later, but it may not replace the required training. Some graduates regret paying for a specialized major when the job pathway still runs through the academy.
